Besides abusing people, I do occasionally like to lend a hand.
It's really a matter of style. That part is up to you.
Also one more thing with shading, the positioning. Think of where the light is coming from. Maybe draw lines of the direction of the light and erase them later. It helps so much.

Also, if should I outline with black or with a darker color of what it is? Should the lines be thick, like vampy slayer's or thin, my my usual?
With shading it's a matter of style. With cartoon, you're already into success. Usually a blocky type shade does the job. With realism it's a completely different story. They say 'there are no lines in nature'
Ah lineart can easily be improved just by practice. Plus I know that if you don't have HD on this app it can be quite a pain to draw near lines. Usually just erasing the messy parts fixes things up nicely.
